Public Health Through Education & Research in
Traditional Chinese Medcine

Mission

1. To fund and support TCM degree granting programs with scholarships and research funds in order to support the education and training of TCM practitioners who are ethical, knowledgeable, and skilled.

2. To enhance and promote Chinese culture in Canada, particularly in BC.

3. To give back to the community by supporting the enhancement of health and well-being through the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine and by complementary evidence-based research in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The Wellspring Charitable Foundation was incorporated in August 2017 by Dr. Weidong Yu, and officially approved as a Registered Charity (#798587317RR0001) on June 11, 2018. Dr. Yu will donates a portion of Wellspring Clinic’s income annually to support the Wellspring Foundation.

Dr. Yu Weidong

Dr. Yu is a world-renowned TCM doctor in Vancouver, and the owner of Wellspring Clinic since 1997. Dr. Yu has practiced TCM in China, Europe, US and BC, Canada for over 35 years. He has developed a TCM based clinical protocol for retinitis pigmentosa and helped hundreds of patients from around world. In 2015, Dr. Yu was invited by the World Health Organization to serve as an international expert on acupuncture clinical practice. He loves BC and Canada, as well as the TCM profession.

Dr. Yu sees the Wellspring Foundation as a tool to give back to the community, and to TCM in Canada and abroad. The Wellspring Foundation will serve as a vehicle for individuals, corporations, and communities who are interested and passionate about the same mission.

The Foundation believes a stronger TCM profession benefits the community and the public. And, it believes that Education and Research are the most effective ways to promote further development of the TCM profession in Canada.

Arden Henley MA (Psych.), Ed.D., Dr. TCM (Hon.)

Arden Henley is a former Vice President of City University of Seattle and Principal of Canadian Programs, A former Chair of the Board of Directors of the BC College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Practitioners, Dr. Henley is an honorary Dr.TCM. Arden has a BA from McMaster, an MA from Duquesne in Pittsburgh and a Doctorate in Education Leadership from SFU.

Well known for his innovative leadership style and thought-provoking presentations, Arden has practiced Organizational Development and Family Therapy for over 40 years and consulted broadly with community and government agencies. His book entitled “Social Architecture: Notes & Essays” summarizes his experience as both a Therapist and Organization Development Consultant.
